Belgravia’s Eaton Square is the most expensive street in England and Wales.
According to research from Lloyds Bank, the average price of a home on Eaton Square is now in excess of £16 million.
Streets where the properties are priced in excess of £1 million can now be found in every region of England and Wales, the research reveals.
Eaton Square tops the list, while other prime central London areas also feature. This is not surprising, as Eaton Square’s elegantly classical, stucco terraces have long been some of the most exclusive and desirable addresses in the UK.
A property on Eaton Square – priced at £55 million – was the most-viewed property on Rightmove last year.
Eaton Square is one of three garden squares built by the Grosvenor family in the 1800s. It has since become one of the world’s most prestigious addresses, with its fine architecture and proximity to the West End and other central London areas.
In the list of London’s most expensive streets, unsurprisingly both Grosvenor Crescent and Chester Square feature, while a list of the most expensive streets outside the capital is dominated by Weybridge and Leatherhead, both in Surrey.
