London favourite for foreign property investment

London has been named the ‘best city’ with the best investment opportunities for overseas buyers.

The UK capital has been named the city with the best investment opportunities for overseas buyers, according to a survey by the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE). Beating last year’s favourite New York, the results demonstrate that London’s head of the game when it comes to attracting foreign buyers.

Other popular cities include San Francisco, Houston and Los Angeles. London’s attraction is thanks to a lack of restrictions, good tax regime (well, until Capital Gains Tax kicks in for foreign buyers in April 2015) and its international status as a top European city.

With more than £7 billion of foreign investment spent on luxury London homes last year, London’s certainly one to watch!
