Mayfair Art Weekend will spring to life later this month, with an exciting programme of talks, exhibitions and guided walking tours, all celebrating Mayfair’s cultural community.
The free event, which follows on from Brown’s London Art Weekend, is being organised in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts (RA).
Running for three days between 30 June – 2 July 2017, the event coincides with the RA’s Summer Exhibition 2017, one of the world’s best-loved open submission contemporary art shows.
More than 60 galleries, auction houses and venues across Mayfair and St James will open up their doors for the event.
The galleries taking part in the event will host talks, installations, previews, and guided tours of their exhibitions, while various luxury fashion brands and upmarket retailers in the area are also expected to take part in the festivities.
The Royal Academy of Arts will host a series of free activities, including workshops and performances, while street food, craft beer and live music will be on offer in its courtyard entrance.
Visitors to the event won’t go hungry either, as Bonhams Restaurant and HIX Mayfair, among other dining establishments, will have a special menu on offer.
The Mayfair Art Weekend is a celebration of the artistic and cultural dynamism of Mayfair, with the Royal Academy of Arts at its heart. The renowned Mayfair institution will be providing details of what activities are on offer over the course of the three days.
