Phones4U billionaire John Caudwell has revealed plans for a £2bn apartment block in the centre of Mayfair.
The development will include 30 “super prime” flats and townhouses. A planning application for the 200,000 square feet “neo-classical” project on the site of a 1960s multistorey car park was sent to Westminster Council this week.
If approved, the development could rival One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, where a penthouse sold for a record-breaking £140m in 2010
Homes in the new Audley Square House project have the potential to fetch a record £7,000 per square foot and could even become the first to break the £10,000 barrier.
The block will have nine storeys above ground topped by two duplex and one triplex penthouses. There will also be five basement levels, including two for car parking.
