The Eaton Square Schools: What Are They Like And How Good Are They?

Eaton square schools
Eaton Square School is an independent, coeducational Nursery, Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory school in the heart of central London, educating children from the age of 2 ½ to 13 years old.

The desirable residential area of Belgravia benefits from popular schools in walking distance. If you are moving to Belgravia from overseas, our area guide can introduce you to Eaton Square – a series of garden squares framed by 19th Century townhouses and apartments. The Eaton Square Schools are located in and around the square, and are also easily accessed from Chelsea, Mayfair and Knightsbridge.

While ownership and names have changed, these schools still carry a weighty reputation and national prestige.

In our article, we explore the opportunities the four fee-paying day schools can offer. Read on to find out what the Eaton Square Schools are like..

What Are The Eaton Square Schools Like?

Situated near Eaton Square in Belgravia, the Eaton Square Schools are popular with parents from outside the UK who have moved to central London. 70% of pupils live in the local area, and the roll reflects the area’s demographics. Diversity is part of life, with half of all pupils coming from homes where English is not the first language.

The schools are not to be confused with the Church of England-affiliated St Peter’s Eaton Square School, or the boarding school, Eton College. Instead, the Eaton Square Schools offer an independent day school setting in the heart of the Capital for ages 2 to 18.

Each Eaton Square School promotes the values of Perseverance, Ownership, Integrity, Service and Empathy, as well as academic success.

“So many opportunities lie in front of our children. At a time of change, education must adapt to ensure we’re helping them access the best possible chances.” Sebastian Hepher, Principal

Sebastian Hepher, Principal of Eaton Square Schools, has led the schools since 2010. He is supported by Trish Watts as Headmistress of the Nursery and Preparatory Schools and Dr Adrian Rainbow as Head of Senior and Sixth.

Leavers’ destinations include leading independent day and boarding schools such as Eton, Harrow, Alleyn’s, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Latymer Upper and St Paul’s, with over 30 scholarships awarded in the past 2 years.

Described as a “Heady mix of traditional British education with an international flavour. Children are happy here as they have the freedom to be themselves.” Good Schools Guide.

Fees for Easton Square Prep School start from £31,020 per year and children who attend one of the five nurseries get priority admission into reception.

Their well-rounded outlook is demonstrated by the school’s award-winning art and environmental programmes. Eaton Square Prep School collected the Award for Excellence and Innovation in Art and Design at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Awards 2023. The school has also earned the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag status. In 2024, the school was recognised in the Muddy Stilettos School Awards for Excellence in STEM.

London Park School Mayfair (formerly Eaton Square Senior School)

Located at 106 Piccadilly, the school accepts 165 pupils aged 11-16 as Mayfair’s only secondary. It’s a non-selective school that prides itself on its pastoral care and broad extra-curricular programme.

In September 2024, Eaton Square Senior School was rebranded as London Park School Mayfair, or LPS Mayfair. This brought the school into a collective group with LPS Clapham, LPS Sixth and LPS Hybrid.

The termly fee for LPS Mayfair is £10,953, with scholarship places also available.

In academic terms, pupils achieved 94% grades 9-4 and 40% grades 9-7 in 2025. London Park Schools was named the Most Innovative Secondary School Group in London in the LUXlife Private Education Awards.

LPS Sixth (formerly Eaton Square Sixth Form)

A structured academic framework sets LPS Sixth apart from the typical sixth form college model. The sixth form is a relatively new addition, welcoming students since September 2022. In 2024, the sixth form school rebranded as London Park School Sixth (LPS Sixth).

Pupils are offered guidance as they plan their next steps towards university and a future career. Recent leavers have been accepted to Oxford, Cambridge and the Ivy League with expert advice, mentorship and interview preparation.

The 2025 A Level results saw students achieve 73% A-C, 53% A-B and 31% A*-A grades. The termly fee for LPS Sixth is £9,949 for the 2026/27 academic year.
